Kelly Services is hiring a Part-time Marketing/Business Development Intern for a global company in Houston, TX.


Summary of Position

The Marketing / Business Development Intern will be responsible for evaluating the overall potential value of new technologies and projects. The primary output of this work will be a comprehensive business case for a new medical device product opportunity.

This position will work directly with the Sr. Director as well as other technical and senior staff members. The internship will be part-time for a period of 3-6 months, and based in Houston.


  • Perform primary and secondary market research of a potential new medical device with key stakeholders in the healthcare system.

  • Define the overall value proposition, including potential clinical applications / use cases and impact / benefits to patients, clinicians, and others.

  • Research the competitive landscape and identify potential threats, as well as advantages and opportunities for differentiation.

  • Evaluate the overall market potential, including size, growth, trends, and appropriate patient segmentation* Understand the pathway to commercialization, including clinical trials, regulatory approval and manufacturing.

  • Estimate financial viability, include scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and overall economic justification (including payment / reimbursement).

  • Assess the overall risks involved in the project, and apply appropriate risk-discounting to financial estimates.


  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree, preferably a MBA.

  • Candidates must be available to work part-time 10-20 hours / week.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.

  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently as well as on a team, and demonstrated leadership is preferred.

  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Candidates must also be able to work well within a high degree of ambiguity or uncertainty, and be flexible to adapt to changing conditions.

  • Candidates need to have strong written and or verbal communication skills.

Pay rate: $30/hr.
